What You Need to Know About Shade at Geodis Park
Located in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee, GEODIS Park is the home of Nashville SC.
The stadium is the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States and is oriented on a slight Northwest axis. The design includes a large canopy that hangs over all four stands to protect fans from both rain and sun.

However, because the stadium is open at the corners, the East stands remain the “sunny side” for afternoon games.
The West and South are Best for Shade
To ensure the most comfortable experience during a daytime match in Nashville, fans should prioritize the following areas:
- Sections 225 – 233: If you are attending a 1:00 PM kickoff, focus on these sections behind the South goal. These are positioned directly under the roof’s widest coverage point.
- The West Sideline: Sections 101 – 103, 135 – 137, and Club Level C01-C07 offer excellent protection. For the best results, aim for rows further back to ensure you are under the canopy’s shadow for the entire match.
- Sections 126 – 132: Stick to the upper rows of these sections, as the first rows will get hit with the sun until the later parts of the afternoon
Late afternoon and evening
As the sun begins to set in the West, the shadow cast by the western grandstand will eventually cover the entire pitch.
For late afternoon starts, the West sideline is in full shade from the beginning. Fans on the East sideline will be looking directly into the sun during the first half, but the stadium shadow will eventually reach them as the evening progresses.
