What You Need to Know About Shade at Inter&Co Stadium

Located in downtown Orlando, Inter&Co Stadium is the home of Orlando City SC (MLS) and the Orlando Pride (NWSL).

The pitch is oriented on a North-to-South axis, which means the sun tracks over the east stands in the morning and drops behind the west grandstand in the afternoon.

Because the stadium is designed with a canopy that covers every seat, fans are generally well-protected, but the low angle of the setting sun can still cause glare for those on the east side.

Stick to The West Sideline

For those looking to escape the intense Florida sun, the West side of the stadium provides the most consistent comfort.

  • Sections 110 – 120: During games that start earlier in the day, these sections on the West sideline offer the most reliable shade as the sun begins its descent.
  • Sections 101 – 107: On the South goal line, stick to the upper rows of these sections to get shade support from the roof.
  • Supporters Sections 23 – 27: If you want to be in the Supporters Section, stick to the upper rows to get roof protection.
  • Field Level 10 – 20: Later in the afternoon, field level seats on the West sideline should be well in the shade.

Late Afternoon and Rvening

As the sun continues to move, the massive canopy over the West grandstand casts an increasingly long shadow across the pitch.

For an evening kickoff, the west sideline is already fully protected, offering a cool environment and a glare-free view of the field.

On the opposite side, the East sideline sections are still protected from the overhead heat by the roof, but they remain the last to lose the direct horizontal rays of the sun.

The shadow eventually reaches these seats within the first 15 minutes of the match, finally bringing total shade to the entire seating bowl.
