What You Need to Know About Shade at Nu Stadium
Located near Miami International Airport as the centerpiece of the $1.3 billion Miami Freedom Park, Nu Stadium is the state-of-the-art home of Inter Miami CF.
It features the largest canopy roof in Major League Soccer, a tensile cable structure designed to cover nearly all 26,700 seats.
With the stadium facing North-to-South, the West stands are the most reliable for early relief. But the stadium’s 360-degree shaded concourses and gardens allow fans to move around the entire venue while remaining protected from the sun.

Stick to the West Side for Better Shade
For the most reliable protection from the Miami heat, the West side is the top choice. However, the large canopy gives you other options as well
- Sections 201 – 206 & 234 – 239: The upper level on the West side will be your best sections to get the most shade throughout the day.
- Sections 208 – 233: The rest of the upper level on the North, South, and East ends are also largely protected under the canopy, but stick to the upper rows. This includes part of the Leo Messi Stand at sections 217 – 223 near midfield.
- Club and Suite Seating: The suites (S1 – S25) and club seats (C140 – C149) are built further back under the canopy, ensuring they stay dry and shaded regardless of the sun’s angle.
Late Afternoon and Evening Shade
As the game moves into the late afternoon, the massive shadow from the West stretches across the entire pitch.
While the canopy provides overhead cover for the East stand, fans in the lower rows there may still face direct sunlight until the sun fully disappears behind the western roofline.
